I am a proud Aboriginal woman from Wiradjuri country in central western New South Wales. I am a curator, educator, and multi-talented and multi award-winning artist who works in many mediums and across many industries.
I won the First Nations Woman in Business category in the 2022 SA Woman Business Awards. In 2013, I won the Professional Deadly Dressed Award at the 2013 National Deadly Awards, for the Yindi dress, which bore my textile design. In that year as well as 2011, I was nominated for the Deadly Awards ‘Visual Artist of the Year’ category. In 2008, I won the South East Queensland NAIDOC award for ‘Distinguished Services in the Visual Arts Industry’.
I celebrate my Aboriginal culture every day through my business and arts practice taking my stunning work to the public domain and private collections worldwide. My original artworks and products are held by the National Gallery of Australia, and the Toledo Museum of Art in Ohio USA, and numerous other galleries and retail outlets.
I am a respected member of the community, and a highly sought after Aboriginal graphic designer. I have worked and collaborated with many organisations including the Commonwealth Department for Agriculture, Water and the Environment, QLD Health, TAFE NSW, Australian Skills Quality Authority, Commonwealth Grants Commission, MSS Security, Administrative Appeals Tribunal, QLD Police Service, QLD Aboriginal and Islander Health Council, All Together Now, Administrative Appeals Tribunal, the eSafety Commissioner and more.
I have lectured and/or tutored at Sunshine Coast University QLD, Griffith University QLD, Edith Cowan University WA, Charles Sturt University NSW, and University of Sydney on a diverse range of subjects including Aboriginal Art Practices and Protocols, Aboriinal Culture, Creativity and Innovation in Business, and Business Practices.
I have also been a professional musician, and have composed soundtracks for film, and produced albums for many musicians in my studio. To date, I have recorded six albums of my own original music, and have played with such musical greats as the late Archie Roach, Kev Carmody, Dan Sultan, Wolfmother, Neil Murray, and Andrew Farris.
