Music and Performance

Before becoming a full-time artist/creative/maker, I was a professional musician for many years, and have been in the industry for over 25 years.

I have had the honour over the years to perform with some amazing musicians, such as the late Uncle Archie Roach, Dan Sultan, Tiddas, Uncle Kev Carmody, The Flood, Wolfmother, Neil Murray and Andrew Farris.

I am available for solo music performances for events, and can perform with a band on request.  Please use the contact page to enquire.

I Feel Small, is my 6th CD release, this album is a collection of new, old, and co-written songs.  The album is easy listening, and was recorded at Gadigal Music studio in Redfern, Sydney, Australia.  I wrote, or co-wrote all the songs on the album.  Well worth a listen — please watch the features below to hear excerpts of the tracks.

Voiceovers

I am fortunate enough to have my own small recording studio  where I record my voiceover work. I am with the agency Media Group, based in QLD, and can be contracted through them, or directly for voice over work.

Music production is also a passion of mine, and I have worked with numerous artists over the years to produce their albums and record their works in my studio.

“As a kid all she wanted to do was be a drummer in a rock band”

Things didn’t quite work out that way...De loved to sing and play the guitar as a child, and was a rock star in her room...She started to write songs at about 15years old, and hasn’t really looked back.

De is a proud Aboriginal woman, from Wiradjuri nation, and had a love of music from a very early age, and because of this she was the kid that could play a multitude of instruments, and whose musical palette was very eclectic.

De has released 6 albums, composed for film, and produced albums for many artists in her own studio.  She has played with amazing musicians such as Dan Sultan, Wolfmother, Neil Murray, Tiddas, Kev Carmody,  Archie Roach, and  Andrew Farris.          

Needless to say, she loves what she does…Artists that inspire her songwriting are oldies but goodies, Janis Ian, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, and more contemporary artists such as JJ Heller, Sarah Mclachlan, KD Lang, Ingrid Michelson and Patty Griffin.
